Chapter 7 Space as Graphic Visual Element

So space comes in handy for features that are inherently off-putting to the human eye, like your eye can't see bright lights or like bright colors, and seeing, reading, or understanding all the elements in a design.
We can draw attention to a particular part of our design by using space to balance the design.
Many well-regarded designers overlook this factor.

In design there are two types of space:

Positive space and negative space.

Positive space refers to the shapes of objects. Positive space can be perceived as two or three-dimensional.

Negative space is the white space or empty space which is the part of the design that is not there, the space between the visual elements.
This can also be the background color of a design. Negative space can be just as integral to the design as the positive space.

Negative space is important because it helps frame and contain a composition. Negative space connects or disconnects shapes to suggest relationships between shapes.

Negative space avoids visual clutter and looks clean which can help balance a composition and help focus the viewer on something specific.

In design, positive and negative space creates the arrangement within a composition.

In two dimensional design proximity, overlap, opacity, light, and shadow and perspective can be applied to shapes to create visual dynamics.

منفی جگہ سفید جگہ یا خالی جگہ ہے جو ڈیزائن کا وہ حصہ ہے جہاں کچھ میں ڈیزائن نظر نہیں ہوتااوریہ بصری عناصر کے درمیان کی جگہ ہوتی ہے۔
یہ کسی ڈیزائن کے ببیک گرائونڈ کا رنگ بھی ہوسکتا ہے۔ جس کی وجہ سے منفی جگہ مثبت خلاء کی طرح اہمیت کی حامل ہوسکتی ہے۔
منفی جگہ اہم ہے کیونکہ یہ ڈیزائن میں مختلف عناصر کو فریم کرنے میں مدد گار ہو سکتی ہے۔
منفی جگہ شکلوں کے درمیان تعلقات پیدا کرتی ہے یا منقطع کرتی ہے۔

منفی جگہ بصری افراتفری سے بچاتی ہے اور ڈیزائن صاف نظر آنے کا سبب بنتی ہے جوڈیزائن کو متوازن کرنے اور دیکھنے میں اور ڈیزائن میں توجہ دینے میں مددگار ثابت ہوسکتی ہے۔
